Hello everyone! My name is Zack Browning and this will be my very first blog post! A little bit about me, I live in Coos Bay Oregon, have 2 dogs and 1 cat, and work full-time in a seafood restaurant.
During my entire I would say, college career, I have been battling the obstacle of needing to work full-time to pay the tuition, while also excelling in the 14+ credits I took each term. I am finally approaching my senior year at OSU, where I am taking a major in Computer systems and a minor in business. To deal with the workload of these senior-level classes, I have decided to take only 12 credits a term while still working full-time. I believe this will help me better focus on the courses and allow me to perform at an optimal level.
As a kid, I have always been closely interacting, and more-or-less, fascinated with technological devices. As early as I could remember I have always been playing video games in my downtime. I started playing the PS2/Nintendo 64, then the Xbox, then Xbox360, and so on; I even played on the original handheld DS and game boy advanced. My point is, I’ve always enjoyed the concept of video games and the problem-solving that arose with each game.
Once I had reached high school we were getting asked about what we would like to be in the future and ultimately preparing for that journey. At this point in my life, I really had no clue what I would enjoy doing most, but I knew that since I enjoyed technology so much, it had to be in the field of computer science. Coming into the senior design project course, I am a little nervous because I feel like I am not as prepared as most are at this point in their education, but also excited because I am able to test my knowledge and skills to see if I am capable of cooperating with a team to make a great project. Ultimately, I feel like this course will be a fun adventure.
