Along with other forms\nof information, answers to these questions can help you build a more complete picture\nof an applicant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022<strong> <em>What type of supervisory situation do\nyou prefer?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If\napplicants are very independent, they may not fit in an organization whose policies\nand procedures require close supervision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <strong><em>What age\/sex of youth do you want to\nwork with? How would you feel about working with a different age\/sex?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If an\napplicant seems fixated on one age\/sex, be wary. However, it may be that the\napplicant has experience or is gifted with working with certain age groups. Asking\nfollow-up questions about why an applicant has a strong preference can help you\ndetermine if there is cause for concern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <strong><em>Is there anyone who might suggest that\nyou should not work with youth? Why or why not?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <strong><em>Why do you want the position?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <strong><em>What would you do in a particular\nsituation?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Set up\nscenarios that involve potential concerns, boundary issues, or youth protection\npolicies and interactions to gauge the applicant\u2019s response. Be concerned if\napplicants disregard the organization\u2019s policies and procedures or handle a situation\npoorly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 <strong><em>What makes you a good candidate for\nworking with youth?
