Writing Upward & Outward

My name is B and I am a second-year poet in the MFA in Creative Writing at OSU-Cascades, where we grow whole writers with healthy writing lives, guided by this mandate: Wish higher. Fail faster. Be wilder.

Our program is unlike any other. And so our students: are unlike any others.

I’m delighted to invite you to Writing Upward & Outward, an interview series with OSU-Cascades MFA students who are making that mission a reality.

And that’s no small feat.

I envision this forum as a site for exploring the ways OSU-Cascades MFA students move into the public sphere, engage in contemporary politics and issues, and practice writing as a radical act that touches and is touched by the world.

Here’s some insight into how our students practice serious whimsy in seriously significant ways.
