The reintroduction of wolves has been a success story in many places, and are no longer in immediate danger. When a species is no longer in danger, it should be removed from the list so that resources can go to the species that need more help (Williams, 2013). The goals for wolves have been met, meaning it is time to delist them. With that being stated, the outlook for recovery for these wolves is very high. State’s should continue refining management plans in order to properly maintain healthy wolf populations. The ESA at this point is unnecessary for the benefit of the species. Individual states should continue conversations with local organizations, citizens, and government officials to understand all stakeholders in play. If they continue in the same manner, then they are likely to make a successful recovery.
