    • Last year I worked for a Construction company in Seattle that proceeded to offer me a job after I was done with my Internship. The Job provided a great initial starting pay, for the area the job is in. They had a great health insurance program as well as dental and eye insurance. However the past year at this construction company have lead to many changes in management. The manager of the estimating department has just moved to Georgia, which lead to the estimating department working from home. If I was going to be working from home I would prefer to live in Portland because of my family and friends, but that wasn’t going to be possible. The location and living situation became the biggest reason for me deciding to not accept the job in Seattle. Along with those reason, I also did not see a path for me to rise in the company, which would be a problem for me because of my I have a need to learn and be promoted within the company. Employees want to be valued by their company, not providing any room for promotion can leave an employee lost in their role within the company. Overall my decisions mostly came down to location of the job, but limited opportunity also played a major factor in my decision.
