{"id":34,"date":"2021-08-30T08:34:34","date_gmt":"2021-08-30T08:34:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/wilsoninteractionplan\/?p=34"},"modified":"2021-08-30T09:35:33","modified_gmt":"2021-08-30T09:35:33","slug":"things-learned","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/wilsoninteractionplan\/2021\/08\/30\/things-learned\/","title":{"rendered":"Things Learned"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This leadership course has taught or reminded me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Pomodoro Method<\/span> &#8211; Helps me stay focused so that I can keep learning both for class and at work. <\/li><li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Networking tricks<\/span> &#8211; Do more pre-planning before any networking event; Be creative with follow-up thank you notes; help try and set up contacts with other contacts.<\/li><li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Motivation<\/span> &#8211; It is a skill that needs to be practiced and different people are motivated by different methods.  <\/li><li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Emotional Intelligence<\/span> &#8211; Focus on ways to improve ot only self control, but also focus  outward to improve social awarenesss and relationship management (areas I can focus on)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These were just a few of the many things I learned\/relearned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This leadership course has taught or reminded me: Pomodoro Method &#8211; Helps me stay focused so that I can keep learning both for class and at work.
