Scott Graham on campus for a talk, \u201cAI has Entered the Chat: Promise, Peril, and the Future of Writing in Higher Ed,\u201d as well as a faculty workshop, \u201cChatGPT in the Classroom: Practicalities &amp; Pedagogies.\u201d Both events were engaging and informative, and you can<a href=\"https:\/\/media.oregonstate.edu\/media\/t\/1_vor9gpuq\"> see the recording of the talk here<\/a>. You can also read an <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/wicnews\/2024\/03\/20\/winter-2024-event-recaps-dr-scott-grahams-talk-workshop-on-generative-ai-writing-and-higher-ed\/\">overview of the talk and workshop<strong> here.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fall, I mentioned that extra funding is allowing WIC to offer our Faculty Seminar several times this year. This term, 18 faculty from 13 schools across 8 colleges completed the Winter 2024 Faculty Seminar\u2013<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/wicnews\/2024\/03\/20\/wic-faculty-seminar-winter-2024\/\">you can read about them <strong>here.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We will be finishing the \u201823-\u201924 year with two more Seminar sessions in Spring, and we have a few spots left. If you are interested in Seminar but have not been nominated by your unit head, please direct them to the<a href=\"https:\/\/wic.oregonstate.edu\/faculty-seminar\"> Faculty Seminar<\/a> page and ask them to email your name to WIC Director Sarah Perrault (sarah.perrault@oregonstate.edu).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This spring, we will also have our traditional spring workshop series. It will feature a workshop on how to use Perusall, a tech support session for Perusall, and another on creating an inviting and fear-free writing environment in your classes. Dates, times, and registration information for the events <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/wicnews\/2024\/03\/20\/upcoming-wic-events-spring-2024\/\">can be found here<\/a><strong>.<\/strong><br>\u00a0<br>Finally, spring will be the time to nominate student papers for the<a href=\"https:\/\/wic.oregonstate.edu\/culture-writing-awards\"> Culture of Writing Awards<\/a>, so please keep an eye out for exemplary student writing.
