Inside, it means tired faculty working on wrapping up winter quarter and getting ready for spring quarter.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is what WIC can offer from winter, and for spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In winter, we had two excellent information literacy events, and the content of each is available online. In January, digital literacy expert Mike Caulfield gave a talk on &#8220;Teaching Truth and Trust in an Era of Digital Dissensus,&#8221; and in February OSU librarians Hannah Rempel and Jane Nichols offered a workshop on how to integrate information literacy so that students are empowered and create stronger connections in their thinking.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you missed these events, or were there and want a refresher, please avail yourself of the following resources:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Mike Caulfield talk: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Y1PexteYDb0&amp;feature=youtu.be\">Recorded video<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/wicnews\/2021\/03\/16\/teaching-truth-and-trust-in-an-era-of-digital-dissensus-recap\/\">written event overview<\/a><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">,<\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"> <\/span>and <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/wicnews\/2021\/03\/17\/infographic-teaching-truth-and-trust-in-an-era-of-digital-dissensus\/\">an infographic of key ideas<\/a><\/li><li>Rempel and Nichols workshop: <a href=\"https:\/\/media.oregonstate.edu\/media\/t\/1_awi95r1z\">Recorded video<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/wicnews\/2021\/03\/16\/info-literacy-workshop-reflection\/\">written event <span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">overview<\/span><\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Another winter project was to continue WIC\u2019s year-long focus (begun in a <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/wicnews\/2020\/12\/04\/literacy-is-the-ability-to-use-language-to-create-a-better-world-an-interview-with-dr-ana-milena-ribero\/\">fall interview with Dr. Ana Milena Ribero<\/a>) on language difference and inclusive pedagogies. This term we add <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/wicnews\/2021\/03\/16\/linguistic-equity-a-video-review-article\/\">a video essay on linguistic equity<\/a> created by graduate and undergraduate student members of the WIC team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking ahead to spring, we will offer an array of events, including one on how to practice linguistic inclusiveness in teaching. Normally offered as the Spring Lunch Series, this quarter\u2019s events will be a bit more varied in time of day\u2014think of them as the Spring Snack Series\u2014but no less useful than in previous years.&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/wicnews\/2021\/03\/16\/spring-event-series-announced\/\">Here is the lineup, with links for registering<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The art of asking questions: How to prime stronger student engagement <\/li><li>3 quick hacks to build cognizance, agency, &amp; logical flow in STEM WIC <\/li><li><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Whose language?
