During this course we will address woodland conditions of western Oregon, and\u00a0will have regional flavor according to the counties served by the FNR agents hosting each shortcourse as they rotate around the region.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This&nbsp;seven-session&nbsp;course is&nbsp;ideal&nbsp;for people who are new to taking care of&nbsp;a woodland or forested&nbsp;property.&nbsp;The class provides a broad introduction to woodland types, tending practices, and terminology to help you&nbsp;take care of&nbsp;your property&nbsp;and get things done.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Topics covered:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Getting Started:&nbsp; assessing your property and site.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>What\u2019s Going on in Your Woods? Understanding forest ecology, forest health and wildlife needs.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li><li>Taking Care of Your Woods: tree planting, care for an established forest, weed control, and fire risk reduction.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Getting it Done: safety, timber&nbsp;sale&nbsp;logistics, laws and regulations.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Each session includes an hour and a half session designed in our <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/westernwoodlandmanagment\/the-remote-format\/\">remote format<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This course is Free, but pre-registration is required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/westernwoodlandmanagment\/2020\/05\/13\/register-for-one-of-our-upcoming-courses\/\">Register<\/a> once to participate in all of the sessions. Once registered you will receive an automatic reply from the system with information on how to remotely connect through your personal computer, tablet, and\/or smart phone.
