I’m still trying to figure out exactly what I want to do. But one thing from this class that really stood out and that I’ve kept coming back to is the idea that exploration is necessary, especially when you’re unsure. In week 9 we read an article by Kelli Smith “How to Find Your Dream Job When You Don’t Know What You Want” and it resonated with me.

It taught me that it’s okay to not have everything figured out. I’ve always been the kind of person who wants to plan ahead and stay in control, but this class helped me realize that growth happens when you give yourself permission to explore and not have all the answers right away. From this, I have had a lot more peace in my future and career and feeling okay to not know what I want to do. I didn’t realize how important it is to test things out, reflect, and shift direction if needed. It’s easy to feel pressure to choose the “right” path straight out of college, but the truth is, what’s “right” might change, and that’s okay.

I found that instead of focusing on everything I don’t know or haven’t done yet, I should start to look at what I’m naturally good at and what makes me, ME. That’s something I hadn’t spent enough time thinking about. I want my work to align with what I bring to the table and what I enjoy doing. I do feel more confident in how I’m approaching my future. I’m more open to trying, failing, learning, and growing.

With graduation right around the corner, I’ve been feeling a mix of emotions excited, nervous, and honestly, a pretty lost in what I want for my future career.
