I have taken a class for insurance and the different kinds there are, and I personally have talked to someone who sells insurance. So, when I hear the word compensation, I think about the insurance coverage plan for workers who get injured on the job. In my own words, workers compensation is when you are injured on the job and the company has to pay for the medical bills and depending on the situation the injured employee can be paid more money because in some cases the accident leads the person to not be able to work anymore. 

Compensation can lead to certain behaviors for individuals. For example, I knew someone who planned a fake injury, so they were able to file a report at their job so they would have their medical bills and their time off of work paid for. Furthermore, I believe that compensation can lead someone to do negative things to themselves and others because they want fast easy money. But on the other hand, there other factors that can contribute to different actions. For example, someone who gets a job offer in another state can be compensated by having their trip of moving to that new location paid for, housing can be paid for by the company, and they could possibly offer benefits that your current job does not. Compensation is a motivational factor for sure, but I think it plays a huge part when it comes to dealing with money.
