The last job I applied for is the one I have right now. When looking back at the job description, it did not have a huge impact on my decision to apply. I think that the appeal to me came from the company and culture. It is a successful company that I could see myself working at for a long time. That was the biggest factor for me applying. Another factor that came before the job description was the flexibility of the position. I was able to work from school which was a big reason why I applied for the job. I wanted a position that I didn’t have to physically go into the office to complete. Now getting to the job description, it did play a factor but wasn’t the biggest one. The job description did not exactly match my experience on the job. Everything I did was in the job description but I also did stuff that wasn’t in the description. This wasn’t a bad thing though. There were times when the job would get a little tedious but my supervisor would come to me with new tasks and responsibilities to complete which I enjoyed. They recognize that I am a good employee and give me new things to do to help me grow and improve my skills. It was similar to the job description though because the new tasks and skills they were assigning/teaching me built off of the tasks that were outlined in the job description. This made it easy to complete these new tasks. It wasn’t a situation where I was hired for a position and then they threw all of these different tasks at me without a heads up.
