If I came to learn that one of my favorite companies was being faced with a lawsuit because they were being accused of widespread discrimination against individuals of a particular group, it would definitely affect the way that I felt about that company. After learning this, I would initially want to learn more about the situation and get a better understanding of the facts to get a clear picture of what they are being accused of. I think that especially today, with so many news sources and false information, it is important to make sure you are obtaining accurate information before coming to a conclusion.

If I came to the conclusion that the claims against the company in the lawsuit are valid or have enough proof, then I do think it would influence my decision to support the company. There are so many different companies and stores out there today that the competition is extremely tough, therefore it is pretty easy to find another company that sells the same or similar products with better ethics. For example, there have been multiple makeup brands and cosmetic brands that I have come to learn to have unethical practices, which has then influenced me to stop buying those products and supporting those companies.

I think learning that a company is being accused of widespread discrimination would definitely discourage me from applying or thinking about working there. Especially today, with a shortage of workers to fill jobs, I think that it would be relatively feasible to avoid companies that do not align with my personal values and morals. I would not want to work for a company that I know had participated in or been accused of discrimination because that says a lot about the company culture and the atmosphere of the workplace. Overall, learning of any company being accused of discrimination, I think negatively affects all aspects of their business.
