Lead Building Services Assistants lead a team of six Building Services Assistants. Lead BSAs work with Residential Conferences Management to coordinate work related to bed lofting, linen and laundering, and related tasks. They will develop and lead spring and summer trainings. Lead BSAs will gain supervision, work management, and quality control experience and skills—and will receive support and guidance from our management team. Compensation: $9.70-10.45 per hour. Conference Building Managers will gain supervision, management, and significant customer service experience. CBMs manage a variety of logistics and client needs, develop and lead parts of staff training. CBMs will receive a high level of support, and Residential Conferences Management will work with you to deepen your problem solving and critical thinking skills. The Scholar Housing Manager works with Residential Conference Management to ensure the success of our Scholar Housing program. The SHM will gain significant administrative and customer service experience in this position. The SHM will manage a variety of logistics and client needs, develop and lead parts of staff training, and manage the Scholar Housing Front Desk. As with the other positions, the SHM will receive a high level of support. The SHM earns $1920/month and have the option to live on or off campus. Young Adults Urged to Get Flu Vaccine

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is reporting that this year’s predominant flu strain is H1N1, which can cause severe respiratory illness among young and middle-aged adults in particular. H1N1 is one of the strains included in the flu vaccine this year. Anyone who has not yet been vaccinated this season is advised to get an influenza vaccination. Student Health Services has vaccine available to students, faculty and staff. No appointment is necessary.
Cost and Insurance Information
• Students: $15 for injectable vaccine – Charged to your OSU student account. Bring your OSU ID card.
• Graduate Students with PacificSource Insurance: $15 for injectable vaccine – Charge will be billed directly to PacificSource. Bring your insurance card and OSU ID card.
• Faculty/Staff: $27 for injectable vaccine. If covered by a PEBB Providence insurance plan (Statewide or Choice), the fee will be billed directly to Providence. Bring your insurance card and OSU ID card. If not covered by PEBB, faculty/staff may also pay on site by cash or check.

Position Title: Student Building Manager
Hiring Immediately for Academic Year 2013-2014
Position Description:
Work with MU Building Operations Manager and Building Management Team in overseeing and coordinating evening
and weekend operations throughout the Memorial Union organization.
Responsibilities:
 Promote a safe, secure and orderly environment for employees, volunteers and visitors in the MU.
 Troubleshoot and solve problems involving guests, employees and building systems.
 Ensure meeting rooms, event spaces and common spaces are clean, arranged properly and ready for guests.
 Provide leadership and appropriate response during emergency situations.
 Open or Secure doors, windows and other access points in all MU facilities.
 Provide emergency coverage and relief in MU Basement, Guest Services, Info Desk and Building Services.
 Monitor all Memorial Union facilities, rooms and locations on reoccurring walking rounds.
 Enforce building policies and procedures and handle disruptive incidents as appropriate.
 Lead fellow student staff in providing exceptional customer service to all parties encountered.
 Perform other duties as assigned.
General Qualifications:
Academics –
Must be an upper-class undergraduate student or graduate student with at least one full academic year left before
graduation. Must have at least a 2.5 GPA and must be continually enrolled for at least 6 credit hours each quarter.
Communication Skills –
Must be proficient in both verbal and written communication. Must be capable of communicating across multiple workshifts
utilizing e-mail, voicemail, written logs, telephone and hand-held radio. Must communicate in a positive manner
and strive to deal with problems in a mature and responsible manner resulting in mutually favorable resolutions.
Judgment and Integrity –
Must be able to exercise sound judgment and act in a responsible manner and lead other MU staff members with
integrity and in accordance with established policies.
Customer Service Skills –
Must possess and demonstrate exceptional customer service and positive attitude at all times.
Attitude –
Must display a healthy work-ethic which includes, but is not limited to the ability to be self-directed towards reliable
attendance and excellent punctuality. Must demonstrate the ability to focus attention to details on the job, and avoid
distractions that take away from effective building supervision.
Hours: Approx 16-20 hours each week, with shifts 4pm-11pm on Weeknights and 7am-4pm & 4pm-12am Weekends
Pay Rate: $ 10.00+ /hr and merit-based increases upon annual anniversary.

The VFSA is asking for volunteers to help with the Tabling Event being held in the MU Quad on November 7th and 8th. There are various times to choose from and are scheduled in hour increments, but you can volunteer for whatever time is suitable to your schedule. We would like two people per time, but more is possible. We will have table, chairs, flags and handouts for people.
