By this, I mean that when they are at their best, few people are better than Avery at what they do. However, in most situations, Avery can be considered somewhat of a slacker. Day in and day out, the level of performance they give you could be described at best, a little below average.

The next candidate is Jaime. Jaime is known for consistency. Jamie is the type of person that will give you pretty good results every time they show up for work. However, in clutch situations, Jaime struggles to provide you with any more than what they already give you daily. That is, when pushed to their limit, we find that Jaime’s upper potential is nowhere near what Avery is capable of producing.

If I were in the shoes of this business owner, I would hire Jaime for the job. The reason being that when you have a consistent employee, you know exactly what they’ll produce, and you can always rely on them to provide you with that consistency. Even though Avery has a high ceiling, a slacker could be detrimental in a situation where you’re expecting something, but you don’t get it because someone decided to slack.

I think a job where Avery would excel at is a real estate job. Because he’s a slacker, there can be days where he takes a break to recoup and gather himself for the next day where he can use that high ceiling to close a deal on a house.

I think a job where Jaime would excel at is a sales job. All you need is consistency with a sales job and if he’s one of my sales managers, I know exactly what I can expect from him and everything will be super steady on his side.

Being a business owner can be tough when you need to make hiring decisions because there could be two completely different candidates for the position, but you have to make a selection on just one. In this scenario, I am the business owner and I have narrowed my extensive search down to two candidates who… Continue reading What Type of Performance is Better for the Situation?

[1

post-1","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized","entry
["GET
