It’s a Roller !<\/h2>\n

Today I got the front wheel which the ‘mechanic up the road’ has been building for me, along with the Ceriani forks that made me so excited to buy this ol run-down desert sled way back almost two years ago.<\/p>\n

Here’s the wheel and forks in my cozy shop which has a wooden floor. It’s OSB board on top of grid of 1x2s giving me a much better surface to stand on than the concrete that’s under it. I did the whole 10×20 shop for under $50…

Now that I have two wheels and tires, I can roll the little sweetie around the trailer park like it’s some kind of 18th century ‘bicycle’…
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Since I have 99% of the parts to assembly the engine, it could be placed in the frame in a few weeks – But since it took me all this time to get the rolling chassis, I’m not so sure. Now I suddenly have a wide selection of heads, cams and carburetor choices available to me – the mechanic up the road and I have long since mended our relationship since my taking him to court and he’s been very engaged in making this a successful project utilizing his full resources.

\nThese are matching Excell shouldered alloy rims w\/ Dunlop K81s – 4.25×18 and 4.10×19 – It seems to be sitting a little low to the ground and has the ‘all business’ look to it as intended…<\/p>\n

Since there isn’t room for a tail light and license plate like there was on my T100 and I still wanted to keep the plate under the bum-stop seat, I mounted red LED tail light\/stop lights on both sides aft of the shocks. Hope this arrangement passes mustard and the mock-up plate gets replaced with a real one.

The Wheel – Hand drilled stainless steel disk on an alloy carrier mounted to a shaved alloy hub, mated to an Excell shouldered rim laced w\/ Buchanan’s stainless spokes. The carrier bolts and disc screws had to be counter-sunk to make the whole thing narrow enough to fit between the Ceriani forks. Looking good, eh?

A week from today there will be the Oregon Vintage Motorcycle show at the fairgrounds next door (which started me on this highway to the poorhouse two years ago) – Think I’ll roll the little sweetie over there for some befores and afters<\/p>\n
