What Do Employees Look for in a Great Workplace?

After studying a few companies that are considered to be great workplaces by their employees it was noticeable that the companies had several aspects in common. The three companies that I looked into were Workday, Delta Airlines, and Power Home Remodeling. All three of these companies are large and still manage to make most of their employees happy and enjoy working with them.

Workday: 93% of Workday employees say it is a great place to work. Some of the reasoning behind Workday being a great company to work in was that employees felt proud to let others know that was where they were employed. Workers also really like that as soon as they began working they felt welcome. Employees also mentioned that they like the impact they are making in the community, feel that management is ethical and honest in their business dealings.

Delta Airlines: At Delta Airlines 87% of their employees believe that it is a great place to work. These employees believe that Delta is great because they feel welcome when at work. Employees also think that Delta is great because it is a place where they are proud to tell others that they work for Delta Airlines. These employees also expressed that they are providing a service that is helpful to the community as well as a high-quality service.

Power Home Remodeling: 96% of the people who work for Power say that it is a great place to work, they really enjoy how welcome they feel right from the start. employees also like the fact that management is competent, and the executives focus on the best aspects of the company. They also feel that they are equipped with the materials and tools needed to be successful.

Taking a closer look at the three companies which are all considered great places to work they all have similar reasons for being considered great. One of the main things people say is that they feel welcome when at work. this seems to be something that could be credited to HR for possibly hiring people who would be a good fit for the company but also having a standard while at work that ensures people are treated how they should be. Companies also value management that is competent and knows the industry, I strive to be looked at in this regard when I hold a management position in my career. It seems too often that people I talk to either do not get along with the people they work with or think that management is not competent.
