interview experience

The interview is a tool for the HR department to screen for a qualified candidate that fits the job description. However, there are many unquantifiable qualities that make well-suited employees. For example, one company will ask for a team-oriented employee, having said that, it is nearly impossible to know if one is a team player just by looking at the resume. The interview provides real-time feedback and a lot of the time, honest, unprepared answers.

My very first interview took is a casual, unstructured interview, I sat in a room with the boss, and the boss wanted to hire a general laborer, knowing this information and the basic hiring decision, I went into the room and confidently started our conversation. He asked me questions about my ability to perform the job, my education and work schedule, and my work ethic. Although those questions are relatively straightforward, I can get a sense that all of the questions are set up in a way to get a sense of who I am, my attitude, and my abilities to perform the job. Now when I think about the validity of the interview, I think it was a semi-valid interview.
