The spring term as started and I can happily say that this is my last term before graduation. My time at OSU has been a tough but rewarding journey. The introduction classes do a great job to introduce concepts and fundamentals for students just entering the program. Each quarter had its own challenges as classes became more in depth and after each quarter I felt accomplished. Now that the journey is almost over, I can say it has been amazing
Before the pandemic hit, I was working as an implementation manager. This entailed getting new clients’ data integrated into our system. I would use small Python and SQL scripts to get the customers’ third party data integrated into Redshift. I would also help them setup the necessary SFTP access and help setup our JS pixel to track online conversions. This job is what lead me to continue down the path into computer science. It was during the pandemic, that I was laid off and I decided to go back to school for another degree in computer science. I want to continue my journey into the tech field.
When joining this course, I had an idea of creating a game in Python, since this would be new to me. My team members and I will be making a chess game built in PyGame that will allow single or multiplayer matches. Single player will be played against a simple AI and multiplier will allow the user to play online against someone else.
Here is a little information about me. I am originally from Philly and I watch every Flyers and Eagles game. I attended the Eagles Super Bowl parade in 2018 and partied for a whole week with my cousins. I currently live in small town in the San Francisco Bay Area called Sunol. I hike around the neighborhood everyday feeding the goats, horses, alpacas, donkeys, chickens, and dogs. I live with with my beautiful wife Nadija and we have small handicapped dog named Allie. It’s a great life we have out here.
