A scientific research work was performed to evaluate the effect of Mr. Mahendra Kumar Trivedi’s inherent biofield energy treatment on Shigella boydii with respect to antimicrobial sensitivity, biochemical reaction pattern, and biotyping. Shigella is a species of enteric bacteria that causes disease in humans and other primates. The disease caused by the ingestion of Shigella bacteria is referred to as shigellosis, which is most typically associated with diarrhoea and other gastrointestinal symptoms. Shigella easily spreads from person-to-person because of its relatively small (compared to other bacteria) infectious dose. Shigella infection is the third most common cause of bacterial gastroenteritis in the United States. The global burden of shigellosis has been estimated at 165 million cases per year, of which 163 million are in developing countries. The antimicrobial susceptibility of S. boydii showed significant (40%) alteration in the biofield treated group as compared to the control. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values of antimicrobials for S. boydii also showed a significant alteration (59.38%) in the biofield treated group as compared to the control. It was observed that overall 69.70% biochemical reactions were changed in the biofield treated group with respect to the control. Moreover, biotype number was changed in the treated groups without alteration of organism as compared to the control. These results suggested that biofield treatment had significant impact on S. boydii with respect to antimicrobial susceptibility, MIC and biochemical reactions pattern.
