Hello everyone πŸ‘‹!

Welcome to The Rumbling Ants! This is the first of many posts on my journey of CS 467 Online Capstone Project.Β  As a graduating senior at Oregon State University, it’s only natural that I take CS 467, but I would like to dedicate my first blog post to introducing myself.

My name is Anthony, but you can call me Tony, I have two small chihuahuas named Damien and Stefan. I adopted my dogs a few years ago and we have been a family ever since.Β  In my free time I like to work on developing my own game in pygame but some of my other favorite activities outside of being in front of a computer include going on hikes and learning new cooking recipes.

I currently work at Walmart where I’m employed as a Cap 2 associate. Cap 2 associates such as I are responsible for unloading trucks and stacking their contents onto the relevant pallets. Afterwards, my duties include carrying products to the sales floor where I then handle everything from stocking, zoning, and helping customers.Β  I enjoy working as Cap 2, but I have goals of working as a software engineer where I can grow my development skills and learn new and exciting technologies.

I started studying computer science at Oregon State University (OSU) back in the fall of 2019. I first considered studying computer science after reading about the vast amount of job opportunities and potential that existed within the field.Β  The convenience and flexibility of the online post-baccalaureate program offered by the e-campus at OSU is what sealed the deal for me choosing to become a Beaver 🦫 (OSU’s mascot).

My journey at OSU is almost over but my journey in CS 467 has only just begun. For my senior capstone project, I have interest in working on a wide range of topics such as stock market strategies, emulators, machine learning, and many more. I hope to learn a lot in my final semester and I’m excited to work in a group with my peers πŸ˜„.
