Most Important Thing I have Learned

This term, the most important thing I have learned this term is applicant recruitment. Through the past year and a half I have been exposed to doing some recruiting in my internships and now I have been exposed in school.

Throughout this section, it went into great detail about what tools organizations use to recruit candidates, and which ones work best. This skill is crucial to have some experience on best it will ease some of the weight recruiting comes with.

In addition, I think it is really important to be reminded that the typical recruitment style isn’t the only way to get the job done. To assist with the process there are internet methods, point of purchase methods, campus recruiters, employee referrals, and the list goes on. Knowing how to utilize your resources is key to success.

This section specifically relates to what I hope to be doing in the future. Although recruiting might be my end goal in my career, I think that I will dabble around to get the experience. Because eventually, I would like to be either a Director or Vice President of Human Resources of an organization. I think it is important to have a good understanding of what your employee’s jobs look like in order to be able to lead them properly. With this understanding, I think it can grow trust and respect for one another because they get what it takes.

Although I did learn a lot in this class and was able to connect it with my internship, I do think the most impactful section was the recruitment methods and strategies. in my career.
