Typical vs. Maximal Performance

As a business owner faced with the decision of hiring between Avery and Jaime, I would ultimately choose Avery for the position. While both candidates bring valuable traits to the table, Avery’s high-performance ceiling offers greater potential for growth and success in the long run.

In a dynamic business environment, having an employee like Avery, who can reach exceptional levels of performance when motivated or challenged, is invaluable. While Avery may not consistently deliver top-tier results on a day-to-day basis, their ability to excel in high-pressure situations or when given the right motivation can lead to breakthroughs and innovations that drive the company forward.

A job where it would be better to hire someone like Avery would be in a creative or strategic role that requires innovative thinking and problem-solving. For example, in a marketing or product development position, Avery’s ability to think outside the box and deliver exceptional results when inspired can lead to the creation of groundbreaking campaigns or products that set the company apart from its competitors.

While Jaime’s consistency may be appealing in certain contexts, Avery’s high-performance ceiling offers greater potential for driving innovation and achieving success in dynamic and challenging environments. Ultimately, the decision would depend on the specific needs and objectives of the business and the requirements of the position in question.

    Hi Tess!

I also would choose to hire Avery because it sounds like they have the most potential for growth and success in their new role. It sounds like Jamie isn’t very good at handling changes, while Avery seems like they would thrive in a dynamic and flexible environment. They both have strengths and weaknesses, but Avery seems like a more well rounded candidate. I think Jamie would do good in a repetitive role such as data entry because it sounds like they thrive at doing tasks that they understand fully.
