Hello world! My career has been a rollercoaster and has infiltrated many subsections of the tech industry. Starting with a finance degree and working in venture capital to the present, I’m in my final term of a computer science post-baccalaureate degree and working at a real estate company! The journey has been exciting, unpredictable, and ultimately rewarding, especially for my inner child who has always been curious, explorative, and adventurous.
I graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a degree in finance and completed a few summer internships in the real estate and venture capital sectors. Upon graduating, I joined an AI startup as an analyst and explored multiple roles as one does when working in a high-growth startup. I wore many hats that helped me explore finance, accounting, product management, scrum, and automation testing. I eventually transitioned into the engineering team to help test our product and be a scrum master, which provided me with insights into the work that engineers put into our software.
Furthermore, I was intrigued by stand-ups, retro meetings, and sprint planning when I worked with the CTO of the company. The experience was eye-opening and inspired me to pursue a post-baccalaureate degree in computer science at Oregon State University. I’m excited to see where this journey will continue to take me, and I look forward to combining my expertise in business and technology in a role that allows me to use my wide variety of skills.
