A bulk of my time this quarter has been dedicated to understanding the core components of my project. Between reading papers on different aspects of machine learning, reading documentation for libraries used for audio processing, and writing small portions of code for prototype purposes, my team and I have reached the stage in the project where the implementation begins.

While my understanding of those aforementioned components has greatly improved since the beginning of the project, implementation brings a new wave of challenges. Working with many, independent libraries and frameworks, to be used on data from elsewhere, is bound to result in roadblocks.

Fortunately, having the necessary background information makes overcoming these issues quite a bit easier, which highlights the significance of spending time understanding the problem beforehand and coming up with a plan of attack before implementation.
