This week, I completed the tutorials I mentioned last time and set up a Github actions continuous integration workflow for our team repo. I have never used any of the tools we are using for this project before nor CI on a JS project, so I was concerned about the learning curve. Thankfully, it has not been too steep so far and I am definitely starting to feel a lot more confident in coding my portion of the project.
My goals for this upcoming week are to
- Practice/brush-up more on my JS
- create paper prototype mockups of the pages I am coding for our project
- code the menu for the pages
- start coding the profile pages
I am a little nervous about having enough done for a solid demonstration for our midpoint. I still have two weeks though so I am hoping this feeling will fade as I get deeper into the project this week.
I thought it would become easier to find things to blog about as the weeks go by, but instead I am finding it harder and harder to come up with things to write about outside of the project. I have set my goal to 10-15 leetcode problems or applications completed a week. I am hoping this will help motivate me to stop being so lazy. I also plan to look more into the different available fields of CS jobs so that I can zero-in on one I like and learn tools/languages that are relevant to them. I am also eager to finish these last two courses at OSU so that I can add the completed final projects to my portfolio. I plan to look more into side projects as well that I can work on if I am still job hunting post-graduation.
That’s all for this week, thanks for reading and please feel free to leave any helpful CS career advice below!
