I’m the new 4-H EPA in Jackson County and I’m excited to join OSU Extension. My work involves organizing 4-H events and classes, running our new science club, and managing most of the program’s communications. I’m passionate about connecting people to the natural world, be it in the woods, on a farm, or in the classroom. I have a background in Environmental Education–specifically in ecology, sustainable agriculture, and ethnobotany—and have a Masters in Leadership for Sustainability Education. I’m also a licensed classroom teacher, but I prefer nonformal education settings instead, like 4-H, where there’s more flexibility and freedom to explore. I’m still fairly new to southern Oregon, originally hailing from the small town of Hood River, so I like to get outside and explore my new home. Outside of work I spend my time hiking, gardening, writing, crafting, napping on the couch with my dog, and dreaming about one day living on a permaculture homestead.
