{"id":98,"date":"2016-05-04T18:12:22","date_gmt":"2016-05-04T18:12:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/simonichlab\/?page_id=98"},"modified":"2020-08-18T22:16:06","modified_gmt":"2020-08-18T22:16:06","slug":"superfund-research-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/simonichlab\/superfund-research-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Superfund Research Program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Please see the new <a href=\"https:\/\/emt.oregonstate.edu\/emt\/simonich-lab\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Official EMT Research Lab Website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.niehs.nih.gov\/research\/supported\/centers\/srp\/index.cfm\">Superfund Research Program<\/a> (SRP) is a program created by Congress in the 1980&#8217;s to progress research into priority pollution identification, containment, and remediation at Superfund Sites. &nbsp;This program falls under the NIEHS (National Institute of Environmental Health Science) sector of the NIH (National Institute of Health). &nbsp;Oregon State University has 5 ongoing projects under the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/superfund.oregonstate.edu\/\">SRP Center<\/a>.&nbsp; Dr. Staci Simonich is the project leader for project 5 of the SRP Center.&nbsp; Aside from important research her students get to partake in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.niehs.nih.gov\/research\/supported\/centers\/srp\/training\/index.cfm\">SRP Training<\/a> as dictated by the NIEHS guidelines. &nbsp;This encourages interdisciplinary research, communication development, as well as community outreach participation.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please see the new Official EMT Research Lab Website.
