VMware released a update to fix the openSSL library so I will be appling that update May 3, 2014 at 9:00pm This means vcenter web client will not be available during this upgrade. Scheduling 1.5 hours to be on the safe side.

I will be restarting vcenter services Saturday the 26th of April from 9:00pm to 9:30pm the webclient will not be available. Were working with EMC was part of the process.

On December 28th I will be apply a rolling updates to hosts this will not create any outages because all guest vms are migrated off the host before being put into maintenance mode and updates applied. Because of the length in time it takes to complete I will be starting this at 8:00 pm

We are upgrading our StoreVirtual firmware from LeftHand OS 10.5 -> LeftHand OS 11.0
Production and Dev SANs are redundant and maintenance will have no noticeable effect on these SANs, meaning that the OSU systems used by students, staff, and faculty will not experience a service interruption.

We will be applying a firmware update to our iSCSI switches that support our StoreVirtual SAN. This is the storage network that back’s our VMware infrastructure.
We do not anticipate any service interruption. Our switching is redundant, we will only change the switches one at a time, and the changes should not be service interrupting.

On July 20th I will be applying vmware updates to ESXi host in Prod 1, 2, 3 clusters. This is a rolling maintenance and will not create any outages for running guest vm’s. As they will be live migrated off one blade at time as its put into maintenance mode and patches applied.
Regular remote access mechanisms like ssh or remote desktop to the VMs will be unaffected. All VMs and their services will continue to run as normal. There should be no customer impact.

On Saturday the 22nd at 10pm we will be upgrading the Netscalers to version 10 build 76.7. Since they are in HA mode no outages or downtime are expected. In the unlikly event of problems the changes will be rolled back and the maintenance will be scheudled for a later date.
