On the first day all the Oregon Sea Grant (OSG) Scholars gather to the Beverly Beach Yurt in Newport to have our picnic. It was really great catching up with everyone since we hadn\u2019t seen each other together over the last six weeks.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our next day we had our professional development workshop where we learned about the different dynamics of \u201chard power\u201d at work and how to understand\/develop \u201csoft power\u201d during our program and in the future! &nbsp;And later on that day the OSG scholars and I went to one of the beaches around Newport and had a campfire and watch the sun go down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"767\" src=\"https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/601\/files\/2019\/08\/D2267E21-5B4E-4C51-A1A8-2F4FC217F204-1024x767.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6254\" srcset=\"https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/601\/files\/2019\/08\/D2267E21-5B4E-4C51-A1A8-2F4FC217F204-1024x767.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/601\/files\/2019\/08\/D2267E21-5B4E-4C51-A1A8-2F4FC217F204-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/601\/files\/2019\/08\/D2267E21-5B4E-4C51-A1A8-2F4FC217F204-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/601\/files\/2019\/08\/D2267E21-5B4E-4C51-A1A8-2F4FC217F204-768x575.jpg 768w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/601\/files\/2019\/08\/D2267E21-5B4E-4C51-A1A8-2F4FC217F204-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Then finally we spent 3 days camping at the Rujada Campground\nin Dorena, Oregon where we had many burgers, Reese-Oreos Smores, and great\nlaughs!
