Hello OSG Community,<\/p>\n
I wanted to introduce myself and give you a brief summary of what I\u2019ll be up to.<\/p>\n
So…hello and\u00a0nice to meet you<\/em>!\u00a0 I am one of the two new Natural Resource Policy Fellows.\u00a0 I joined the ranks in October and\u00a0 I am now working with Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife\u2019s (ODFW) Marine Resource Program (MRP) in Newport, Oregon.<\/p>\n Generally speaking, over the next year I will provide support for the current statewide marine spatial planning effort.\u00a0 More specifically, I will assist with the development of the \u201cNearshore Ecological Data Atlas\u201d (NEDA), a GIS-based resource that will be displayed on Oregon MarineMap<\/a>. NEDA will feature a collection of ecological data sets (biological, oceanographic, habitat, etc.) and will be an important resource for current and future planning and management efforts.\u00a0 I will also help with public outreach efforts and serve as MRP\u2019s primary coordinator between NEDA and Oregon MarineMap project partners.<\/p>\n That is a general overview of what I will be up to.\u00a0 But, if I\u2019ve learned anything over the last month or so\u2026.everyday is a new day, and everyday brings something\u00a0different and exciting.\u00a0 My fellowship is just beginning to pick up steam and I look forward to keeping you abreast of exciting highlights and accomplishments over the next year!<\/p>\n Cheers to all,<\/p>\n Ben<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Hello OSG Community, I wanted to introduce myself and give you a brief summary of what I\u2019ll be up to.
