In the week 10, we presented our product posters in class. I think this is a very interesting moment. We asked the classmates posters about the class and learned about the products they showed. In the final class we also gave presentations for our product posters. I think every poster is outstanding. In this week’s three cards, I record my learning about future product design. I think these ideas are very useful. Through this lesson, I have a new understanding of design thinking.
In the ninth week, it was almost near the end. I have a general understanding of Design Thinking. I think these steps are inseparable from every product design. In this week’s class, I learned that design thinking is a problem-solving approach that focuses on asking questions and listening sympathetically to the needs of individuals and groups. In these 8 cards, I clearly recorded my learning this week. This week, I learned that storytelling is a “necessary human activity” to share experiences, explain value, and decide on solutions through vivid language and visual means. Through this course, I deeply learned the fun of the design process, it is a very interesting course. This is very helpful for my future design ideas.
In week eight, I have mastered all the steps required to design a product. In the classroom, we analyzed and recorded the results by making prototypes of the products and evaluating the products. I think this step is very helpful, because it is very helpful for our final product design. I can understand the customer’s idea of trying out the prototype, and make some final improvements. This not only understands the customer’s needs, but also does not cause unnecessary problems in the final design. In these 8 cards, I clearly recorded my learning this week. This week, I learned the importance and role of evaluation for a product. Only by letting the customer experience come to the final satisfactory product design. Through this lesson I deeply learned the fun of the design process, this is a very interesting lesson. I hope I can use this knowledge to help my future design ideas.
In the seventh week of class, I learned the importance of prototypes. The interesting thing is that prototypes bring me a lot of value. I think it will be of great help to my project. Prototyping allows me to gather feedback from users in design plans and design projects. These 8 cards clearly record my learning of prototypes, which will allow me to better grasp the information. I think this is an important step in solving the problem. Getting more information by prototyping not only saves costs, but also allows you to change plans effectively.
In the fifth week of class, I learned how to use the idea in our product design process. I think this method is very helpful, it can simply sort out the problems in the product. This helps to solve problems in product production. An article that impressed me most this week in reading is “Do these 3 things before bed to hack your creativity while you sleep.” In this article I learned the benefits of reading before bedtime and learned that it can stimulate our brains to create more ideas. In these 8 cards, I clearly recorded my learning this week.
In the fifth week, I learned the steps needed to design a product. In the classroom, we approached product design by asking questions. Each person asked 3 questions, and the classmates answered them together. I think this method is very helpful. I can understand the views of these questions on you, and better understand the needs of customers through your answers. I think this is very important before designing the product. In these 8 cards, I clearly recorded my learning this week. This week I learned about the impact of technology on fashion and architectural design. With the change of the times, more and more designs are becoming scientific and technological, and people can watch future designs through technologies such as VR. I think this is a very good experience for people. Design can often surprise people.
In the fourth week, I delved into the main forms of designing products. Design comes from people’s inspiration and life experience. Design adds a lot of color to our lives. I learned 4 helpful components in class, they are passion, challenges, trust factors and pain points. I think this is important for design something. In these 8 cards, I clearly recorded the learning situation this week. The main theme this week is in terms of design. Design needs and ideas. In the video A vehicle built in Africa, for Africa, I learned about the needs of African consumers for transportation methods. The author has designed a rugged SUV based on his knowledge of African consumers. This car can drive on uneven roads for a long time. This video gives me a better idea of designing a product and it is very relevant to refer to people’s needs.
In the third week of class, I discussed the insights project with my team members. We learned about people’s needs for phone cases through interviews. We use Aristotle’s 7 elements og good storytelling to record the interview information of our team members. These 7 methods are very helpful, and we can better complete the information we collect through these steps. In these 8 cards, I clearly recorded my learning situation this week. I think this is a good way to document my learning every week. In this week’s video learning, I learned that everyone is creative and is a magician. Everyone’s ideas are very useful information. Recording what you think is interesting can better help to create.
In the second week of class I learned the design thinking process. This process is divided into 5 steps, namely Empathy, define, ideate, prototype, test. These 8 cards clearly show how these 5 steps are performed. I think it is very useful. In this process I can understand the importance of each step. If you want to design a product as good as this, it will be done this way. In this week’s video learning, I learned that people-oriented design concepts are paramount. Every product needs to pass numerous tests to complete the final product. This week’s study gave me a better understanding of the main concepts of design thinking and how to implement them.
In the first week, I learned about the inspiration and creative process of design thinking. These 8 cards clearly record my learning from the first week, which can better help me to obtain important information. In the class of DSGN 341, I also learned the main process of design thinking. Our tutors allow us to learn more by letting us make wallets. I think this is a very good experience. We can complete a wallet through our own design, partner needs, and hands-on production steps. The first week is a fun week. I hope that through the next few weeks of study, I can better understand the fun this course brings me.
