{"id":23418,"date":"2018-11-05T10:44:57","date_gmt":"2018-11-05T18:44:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wpmu.library.oregonstate.edu\/osu_archives\/?p=23418"},"modified":"2018-11-05T10:44:57","modified_gmt":"2018-11-05T18:44:57","slug":"october-2018-guides","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/scarc\/2018\/11\/05\/october-2018-guides\/","title":{"rendered":"October 2018 Guide Additions to SCARC Collections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">We completed seven new or updated finding aids in October 2018.\u00a0 The following is a list and a little information about what we accomplished.\u00a0 These finalized finding aids are available through the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/archiveswest.orbiscascade.org\/\">Archives West<\/a>\u00a0finding aids database, and our\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/scarc.library.oregonstate.edu\/findingaids\/\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400\">\n<li>Three of the guides are for collections that were only minimally described and are now fully processed.<\/li>\n<li>Two of the guides are for collections within our student affairs collections initiative.<\/li>\n<li>One of the guides is for a component of the University Publications (PUBS).<\/li>\n<li>One of the guides is an update to reflect current descriptive practice.<\/li>\n<li>These 7 guides represent \u00a0~20 cubic feet of physical materials and 3 Gbytes of electronic records and include 255 photographs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">All of these materials are now available to researchers (with restrictions for some materials).\u00a0\u00a0 Several of the collections have materials available online in Oregon Digital (see links below).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Collections that were only minimally described and are now fully processed and described:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/scarc\/files\/2018\/11\/p065-case-600w.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-23419 size-thumbnail alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/wpmu.library.oregonstate.edu\/osu_archives\/files\/2018\/11\/p065-case-600w-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"p065-case-600w\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/scarc.library.oregonstate.edu\/findingaids\/index.php?p=collections\/findingaid&amp;id=2610\">Reva Buell Photograph Collection, 1902-1904 (P 065)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">This collection consists of 14 mounted photographic prints depicting Oregon Agricultural College (OAC) scenes, buildings, and student groups.\u00a0 Reva Buell attended OAC in 1900-1904. 047)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">These photographs depict Oregon State University students and faculty in classroom settings and engaged in various learning activities in the early to mid-1900s.\u00a0 Classes pictured include farm mechanics, pharmacy, business, engineering, and home economics.\u00a0 Images from this collection are available\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/scarc.library.oregonstate.edu\/findingaids\/index.php?p=collections\/findingaid&amp;id=366\">Maud Wilson Papers, 1917-1965 (MSS WilsonM)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Maud Wilson Papers document Wilson\u2019s research in housing design and improvements in efficiency that could result from planning and design, especially in rural settings.\u00a0 Wilson was the first full time researcher in home economics at Oregon Agricultural College.\u00a0 Several of her publications are available\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ir.library.oregonstate.edu\/catalog?utf8=%E2%9C%93&amp;locale=en&amp;op=AND&amp;all_fields=&amp;contributor=&amp;academic_affiliation_label=&amp;nested_related_items_label=&amp;other_affiliation_label=&amp;dspace_collection=&amp;dspace_community=&amp;creator=wilson%2C+maud&amp;contributor_advisor=&amp;contributor_committeemember=&amp;degree_field_label=&amp;title=&amp;abstract=&amp;publisher=&amp;date_accepted=&amp;date_available=&amp;date_collected=&amp;date_copyright=&amp;date_created=&amp;date_issued=&amp;date_reviewed=&amp;date_valid=&amp;subject=&amp;hydrologic_unit_code=&amp;file_format=&amp;identifier=&amp;keyword=&amp;based_near_label=&amp;sort=score+desc%2C+date_uploaded_dtsi+desc&amp;search_field=advanced&amp;commit=Search\">online style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Student Health Services records document the administration and provision of health services to Oregon State University students.\u00a0 The records address a variety of health and medical topics such as communicable diseases, vaccinations, patient privacy, and medical records.\u00a0 \u00a0Student Health Services was established at Oregon Agricultural College in
