From realizing that practicing medicine was not what I envisioned myself doing for the rest of my life to getting a software engineer job offer from my dream company in San Francisco last month. To be honest, I still feel like it has not really sunk in yet. <br> <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having gone through 8+ years of training to obtain my MD, I still vividly remember the pain and internal turmoil I felt just thinking of having to let go of all my sacrifices to start a new career in a completely different field. Convincing my family, friends and mentors (and myself) that being capable of doing something did not mean I had\/wanted to do it was probably the hardest challenge I faced in my life, but I am glad that I still managed to build enough courage to let them know my decision. Despite the initial shock, they have become my biggest support in my journey to become a software engineer with the hope of making an impact in our healthcare system. <br> <br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is hard to believe that my OSU journey is slowly approaching its end. I am one quarter away from graduating, and I cannot be more excited to start working at as a software engineer soon after. I have dreamed about this moment for the last year and a half and it finally came true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What a journey it has been!
