How is Sarek managed?

There are several different focuses when it comes to the management of Sarek which we will outline here.

There are some management concerns that all of Swedens National Parks are currently facing.

One of the major issues is a lack of funding for the parks which can impact facilities and management (Swedish National Audit Office, 2024).

The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency is not providing county administrative boards with enough support (Swedish National Audit Office, 2024). Particularly with management guidlines and IT support (Swedish National Audit Office, 2024).

Another issue is that the monitoring system that was developed by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency is not working for its purpose making assesments of the parks status difficult (Swedish National Audit Office, 2024).
