Starting my last semester

Starting a new semester is always a bit challenging, as it can take some time to get back into the swing of things. However, this semester feels a bit different. It is my last semester, and I was hoping to have already had a job lined up for after graduation. Unfortunately, due to the current tech recession, that has not turned out to be the case, and I’m sure I’m not the only one in this position.

I have been searching for a job since August, when I found out that I would not be getting a return offer from my internship. I was interning at a large company that decided not to give any return offers due to the economic climate. Since then, it has been an uphill battle to get interviews. It feels like there is much more competition than I felt last year during my internship search. This matches the experience of others I have spoken to.

Balancing the job hunt with school will be even more of a challenge. Both activities are very time and energy consuming, so it will extremely important to manage my time effectively and stay organized. This is also on top of working full time. I will need to make some sacrifices in my personal life, but that is to be expected in a situation like this.

Its important to remember that this economic situation is temporary. In the meantime, I will continue to grow my skills and make myself a more marketable candidate. While I may not get the job I wanted, I am confident that I will find something eventually. And once I get my foot in the door, I can wait out this economic downturn and eventually find a job that is more aligned with my goals. Right now, I am just trying to focus on getting through the next few months. I know they will be tough, but its the final stretch, and I am ready for it!
