    • I’ve been learning a lot about virtual servers vs. physical servers. I haven’t done much personal research on it, but it has been interesting to see the it being implemented differently for each situation.

This capstone project has done a bit to reinvigorate my passion for a project based approach to coding. A few of the past several quarters have consisted of class that were focused on computer science concepts rather than programming technologies and tools used to create great projects.

I think I’ve been stuck in a bit of a coding rut during my final few quarters. I was getting a bit burnt out, focusing on my new career, and any other type of reason you could list. I just wasn’t that excited about schoolwork. I was finding myself less and less going the ‘extra mile’ to make the assignments more fun.

In the couple weeks we’ve started, the group’s initiative to create our capstone project has gotten me excited again. Part of it is being excited to finally graduate, but the other part is the reinvention of how coding can be really fun.

It has gotten me thinking more and more about my future career goals. I am really happy with my job at the moment, but it certainly doesn’t inspire a lot of creativity. I think it would be great to get some base level experience to put on my resume, and learn what I can in the meantime. It is a very hopeful feeling to already be a full-time software engineer, finishing up my last class, and excited for the future possibilities.

I look forward to continued work on our project. As we lay out the design for the backend, we aim to achieve a MVP in short order. Hoping to connect backend/frontend shortly. It will be at this point the real fun can begin as we build out our project to fulfil the requirements and aim for our stretch goals.
