- Discuss your biggest success during the course. What was your breakthrough, and why did it matter? What did you learn, about the technology, and also about yourself?
My biggest breakthrough so far this quarter had been figuring out how to implement the geolocation api on our desktop website. I has some issues trying to get user input to translate to longitude and latitude location values. I had the UI set up to work when a city value and either a state value of country value is given as input. I learned how to conditionally render that correctly and also set up the api call in a way that it was in a separate reusable function call.
- Conduct a SWOT analysis of this course. SWOT means: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities (to make this course better), and Threats (what are any serious issues that could affect the quality of this course). Discuss each.
STRENGTHS: This course does a really good job of allowing space for creativity and freedom when designing our projects and working towards our goals.
WEAKNESSES: Some weaknesses of the course are that are not as many guardrails for getting our project done and that it could push most of the project needing to get done at the last minute
OPPORTUNITIES: Some opportunities for improvement would be setting up weeks were certain parts of the assignments might be due.
THREATS: The only threats that I could foresee is implementing a project that could have security issues attached to it and having some education as part of the class to mitigate that.
