Blog Post #7

Hey all,

I’m coming at you in Blog Post 7, which means that we are weeks away from the end of the term, and that means weeks away from Graduation! I am planning on making the short trek from Portland to Corvallis on June 11, 2022, to walk. I didn’t walk during my first Bachelors, and my wife really wants to see me do that. My parents also.

Things of note this week, I applied for a position at Tektronics, who makes test equipment for a wide range of electronics and provides service for usage. Now I don’t know a lot about Electrical Engineering, which may be important in this position, but it is still a good opportunity. So anyways, I applied for the position, had a screening call, went ok. Then these week I received a phone call to set up 6 interviews with different groups of people in the company.

So far I have interviewed with 3 groups, the last of which was a technical exam of sorts where I had to answer 10 questions. A lot of them were about electrical diagrams, which I wasn’t able to tackle, but the few that involved programming, I feel like I aced. So, I have 3 more coming up on Monday and Tuesday, and then I’ll wait. I don’t expect much as I haven’t even graduated, but It is great experience.

Meanwhile, our team is working hard on getting our project up and running. We are close, but it has some glitches which are really hard to uncover. We may need to go in line by line to investigate.
