Of these, Southern Ohio Medical Center, Scripps Health, and CoverMyMeds stood out to me. Each of these companies is in the field of Health Care, and they have very high employee satisfaction ratings. For example, at Southern Ohio Medical Center, 94% of employees surveyed said, “I feel good about the ways we contribute to the community” (Great Place To Work® Institute, 2021). For Scripps Health, under the “Life at Scripps Health” section, the company states, “At Scripps, we strive to provide an inclusive and diverse place to give and receive care. Everyone belongs to Scripps!” (Great Place To Work® Institute, 2023). Finally, at CoverMyMeds, 97% of employees surveyed said “When you join the company, you are made to feel welcome” (Great Place To Work® Institute, 2020).

These three companies are successful, in part because they value their employees, and demonstrate that by promoting community values, diversity and inclusion, and by creating a welcoming environment. These companies support ideas that I would want to demonstrate as a manager myself. They strategically align what the employees want with the activities of the companies. As we learned from this week’s reading, Why Did We Ever Go Into HR?, HR today is a mix of psychology, organizational behavior, and finance (Breitfelder & Dowling, 2008). The above companies have succeeded in aligning the psychology, and organizational behavior, in such a way that the end result is very satisfied employees. This will be one of the challenges that I believe I will encounter when conducting the manager’s job in the future.

Works Cited:

Breitfelder, M.
