We are here to assist you with your academic needs such as registering for courses, scheduling advising appointments, getting your registration PIN, etc.
Our office hours are 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday. We are officially all moved in to our new office at Reed Lodge, located at 30th and Jefferson Way!

Here are some things you should remember for Fall Term:
- Dead Week: Dec 2-6
- Finals Week: Dec 9-13
- Winter 2014 Registration Phase 1 begins: Sun, Nov 17th
- Be sure to check your registration status to find your specific date and time
- Last day to S/U class: Nov 15th 5:00pm
- Last day to Withdraw online from a course: Nov 15th 11:55pm
- Grades Available on Web: Wed, Dec 18th
Week 3 Success Tips:
v Have you started studying for midterms yet? Check your syllabi, the first midterm usually lands between week 3 and week 5. If you find yourself confused or missing a lot of class, maybe drop in for office hours.
Happenings in the School of Psychological Science:
- Psi Chi Meeting: The first meeting for the National Psychology Honor Society is this Thursday, October 17th from 4:00-5:00pm in the MU Asian Pacific Room. Thinking about joining? - Psychological Science Colloquium Series: Friday, October 18th Dr. Aurora Sherman will be discussing an Experimental Paradigm for Exploring Childhood Socialization. The Colloquium are a series of research talks by scholars from OSU and elsewhere. They happen every Friday in Reed Lodge 111 from 4:00-5:00pm. Feel free to drop by and learn a few things from one of our own professors!
- Looking for an upper division course for winter?? Dr. Edwards Psychological Research Workshop might be just what you are looking for! This course is a participation format research course that will require students to engage in a number of activities that commonly take place in investigations of Social-Cognitive Psychology. Students will be asked to complete a number of personality inventories and social judgment assessments and to engage in a series of guided meditations. The results of these assessments will be discussed. Students will experience psychological research first-hand and in the process come to understand the relationship between psychological constructs and the operationalizations used to assess them.

Pre-requisites: None. No prerequisites. All majors can enroll in this.
Requirements:
· Attendance is mandatory. You must attend every class. And you must be on time!
· Homework will be assigned
· No graded tests. No graded exams.
· Grading is Pass/No Pass
Restrictions:
· Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors are ALL eligible.
· Course is limited to the first 21 students who register
· Students who have already taken PSY401 cannot enroll in this class.
· Students who have already taken Drs. McCullough/Edwards PSY499 “Psychology of
Meditation” class cannot enroll in this class.
· You must attend the first class. There are no exceptions to this.
- You must get the permission of the instructor.
HOW TO REGISTER: Pick up a “closed class/course registration waiver” form (yellow) from Dr. Edwards (Reed Lodge 209) — Hand it in to the Department office, at which point you will be able to register for it online. (4 credits)
Psy Majors: This course will contribute 4 credits of 400-level elective toward your major.

- NEW! Homecoming Week Oct. 21-26: Join the Homecoming tradition all week and be part of Beaver Nation. Games in the MU Quad, Pepsi Pong Tourney, a concert prior to the football game on Saturday and much more! You won’t want to miss the parade and bonfire/pep rally (located behind the Hilton Garden Inn) on Thurs. Oct. 24.

- Volunteer Opportunities Abroad
PUBLIC HEALTH BRIGADES INFO SESSION
Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 5pm – Milam 019
Want to provide access to health care for an in-need community? Would you like to travel to Africa for Summer break? Join Public Health’s Brigade to Ghana, August 17-27th to bring access to doctors and health care to in-need communities as well as help families improve their home infrastructure to combat preventative diseases. Get hands on experience in the field, shadowing licensed doctors as they consult community on their health needs and prescribe medicines. Student volunteers have the opportunity to intake patients, perform triage, and distribute medicines under licensed pharmacists. Additionally you will work with other students to better the living conditions of families in rural areas of Ghana! During the ten day brigade, students have the opportunity to work side-by-side with families to build eco-stoves, concrete floors, latrines, showers, water storage units or whatever else might be needed by the community.
