It weighs about 64 kDa and is in the &#8220;all alpha&#8221; domain. One of its functions is that it is secreted by Helper T cells in order to activate macrophages, which destroy pathogens. It also positively regulates production of IL-6 and IL-12, which are pro-inflammatory cytokines. It also plays a role in antibody production by plasma cells.<\/p>\n<p>Design for protein:<br \/>\nI will be using &#8220;lab junk&#8221; to construct my protein.
