Creating a Visitor Survey

Part of my project was to survey the garden members down at the riverwalk section of the estate; Here is how I created a short survey.

Alex mentioned he wanted to know what people primarily use the riverwalk for and what improvements they might want to see made. I have done visitor surveying before and understand that people rarely want to have time taken out of their day so it is essential to make it short. I asked the following questions:

What is your primary motivation for coming to the riverwalk?

How often do you visit the riverwalk?

Is the cost of entry worth it?

Are there any improvements that you would like to see?

I kept them open-ended so that it sounded more like a conversation rather than boring yes or no questions. Since I was just surveying right off my phone I made multiple choices that only I could see pre-filled with answers that Alex and I anticipated would be common. Asking about the cost of entry was not really needed for the goal of my report, but I figured it would be a good lead into the last question because it would force people to consider the monetary cost of the membership when asked about improvements.
