These are made to help us see how we solve problems as they arise and our coping strategies. While completing these I learned a few new things and was already aware of some.

In the first quiz “Coping and Stress Management Skills Test”, I scored an 83. This means I use problem-focused strategies to cope with stress. Although this does not help with situations that I do not have control over it allows me to be useful in understanding the situation I am in. Lastly, in some situations, it is my advantage to take action and modify the stressors to cope with them better.

In the second quiz “Type A Personality Test”, I scored an imatient and irritability score of 25. I am more go with the flow and allow grace to people. Everyone has their issues and I may not know what is happening so acting irrationally is not in anyone’s best interest. This quiz also showed how I am not likely to have a very elevated risk for heart disease due to limiting stress. This quiz said it was rare that I would act out when frustrated and stressed. I agree with this quiz as I tend to think before I react.

This will help me in future careers because I will understand other people as well as have healthy mechanisms to control my stress. This also can help me help my colleagues when they are going through tough times. I have learned over time that taking a step back does wonders along with physical activity so that is something I would apply to the workforce.

After doing some of my own research, I have learned that nearly three in five employees have experienced a negative impact of work-related stress. That is a huge number of people that are having an emotional toll. A few actions that employers can take to help support employees are allowing telecommuting. This is because extremely popular, especially after the pandemic. This is a hybrid approach in that employees are in the office a few days a week and online a few. This has helped a magnitude of employees. A few others are providing resources and support, checking in with the employees along with encouraging them to take care of themselves.

https://www.shrm.org/resourcesandtools/tools-and-samples/hr-qa/pages/reducing-stress-in-the-workplace.aspx

When looking through the different websites and taking the quizzes, I learned something about myself.
