Welcome to my introductory post to my CS467 Capstone blog. My name is Steven Ouk and I live in the greater Boston area. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from UMass Lowell. I wanted to make a career change so the post-bacc computer science program at OSU was a perfect fit for me. It has been a journey! I learned everything from web development to algorithms and runtimes to mobile development and much much more. I’ve completed a couple software engineer internships under my belt where I worked on interesting projects and codebases. My favorite programming language to work with is Python, but I’m down to learn any languages. For example, I was able to work with PHP and Java codebases in my internships. I am currently an engineer in the defense industry, hoping to transition to a software engineer in the future. Some of my interests include video games, traveling, food, coffee.

I am very excited to meet my team and work on our capstone project. I had a bunch of criteria for the projects that I selected. I looked for projects that were interesting to me, projects that I could learn a lot from, and/or projects that may personally assist me in the future. I hope to learn a lot from this course, whether it’s general software engineering practice or how to work well on a project with a team. Cheers to a successful capstone project!

Hello world! Welcome to my introductory post to my CS467 Capstone blog.
