You&#8217;re not alone \u2014 traditional essay assignments have become fraught in the age of generative AI. Drop in for a lunchtime conversation on re-invigorating humanities teaching practices. The event will include three short presentations that focus on useful takeaways for faculty, followed by Q&amp;A. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each presenter will offer one pedagogical strategy that they developed over the summer as part of the OSU Center for the Humanities Teaching Innovation Fellowship.  Presenters include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Amy Koehlinger<\/strong>,&nbsp;&#8220;Place-Based Pedagogy: Deep Listening in a Collaborative Field Class.&#8221; Amy will present alongside one of her field class students,&nbsp;Andi Scarbrough.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Valeria Ochoa<\/strong>, &#8220;Utilizing VoiceThread for Final Presentations&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Kim McAloney<\/strong>, &#8220;Learning to Lead: A Showcase of Student Praxis&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thursday, November 13 at noon in MU 213.<\/strong> Refreshments will be served!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p>Sponsored by the <a href=\"https:\/\/prax.oregonstate.edu\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/prax.oregonstate.edu\/\">Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts<\/a> (PRAx).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Looking for new ideas for the humanities classroom?
