Educational Program Assistants are non-clerical, classified employees under the direction of Extension faculty who assist in the coordination, promotion, and evaluation of program elements. Part-time and full-time EPAs who have been on staff for at least one year are eligible for this award. They do not need to be a member of OSUEA to be eligible. The purpose of this award is to recognize and reward outstanding and exceptional service to the organization by professional faculty (administrative) members within the OSU Extension Service. See <a href=\"https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/3022\/files\/2025\/10\/OSUEA-Teams-Award-Recipients.pdf\">Team Award Recipients (PDF)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oregonstate.box.com\/s\/9sk4uk2lmq4zk3hdc7k92sx5l0fkgahr\">View the Scoring Rubric here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What you&#8217;ll need:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Narrative summary, not to exceed 2 pages (single-spaced, 12pt font), include a well-designed narrative describing the team&#8217;s role and program achievements that reflect the award criteria (see below).\n<ul>\n<li>Types of information to incorporate into the narrative summary are:\n<ul>\n<li>The issue or situation addressed.<\/li>\n<li>Resources involved: team members, volunteers, agencies\/cooperators and funds, supplies or equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Methods used: innovative or creative problem solving, educational or delivery methods.<\/li>\n<li>Results: who benefited, what were the impacts, how did lives or communities change, what are the implications for future programs.<\/li>\n<li>This narrative can be in an outline format if that is most effective.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Search for Excellence Awards<\/h4>\n<p><em>Purpose of <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/osuea\/search-for-excellence\/\">Search for Excellence Program<\/a><\/em>: To recognize outstanding Extension education effort, innovation and impact. <em>Eligibility<\/em>: Nominees eligible for the Search for Excellence Award must: Applicant or at least one project leader of team be a current member of OSUEA as of the award nomination date (current year OSUEA membership list). Project or program completed within the last 2 years, at time of application. Two (2) Letters of support required. Nominate yourself or a colleague (<a href=\"https:\/\/oregonstate.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_b7nBWLRwdiBYSk6\">Qualtrics<\/a>). Also, selected applicants will be required to present at Extension Annual Conference.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/osuea\/search-for-excellence\/\">View the Scoring Rubric here.<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>OSU Extension Service Awards<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h4><strong>Hoecker Extension Innovative and Replication Grants Program<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The Dale and Alice Hoecker family established the Extension Innovative Grants Program in 2001 to encourage and support Extension faculty in developing\/replicating and delivering programs that address a high-priority need of an Oregon target audience through creative and innovative approaches. This grants program is funded by the Hoecker Family Endowment set up in 1993. This program is only for new projects or programs (funding existing programs is not allowed). The project may be a replication program or of new design but must be \u201cnew\u201d for the respective applicant, please list additional project funding sources. Grant award total for category is $4,000, can be distributed among awarded applications or whole amount to one awarded application.<em><strong> 2 Letters of support required.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<div>This is a reimbursement award, meant to supplement existing funding or in-kind contributions that do\u00a0not go through <a href=\"https:\/\/research.oregonstate.edu\/osraa\">Office For Sponsored Research and Award Administration (OSRAA)<\/a>. Projects will only be selected that have clear budgets which specify items otherwise not able to purchase. All grant funds must be used within the one-year time-frame, failure to spend the awarded funds will hinder future grant application acceptance.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Application recommendations:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Concise description of program and how it meets grant priorities: Innovation of new idea or replication of project<\/li>\n<li>Detail on incorporation of partnerships<\/li>\n<li>How your project will positively impact Oregon audiences or enhance Extension programming to positively impact Oregon audiences.<\/li>\n<li>Provide a detailed breakdown of how funds would be used, include additional funding sources and highlight any connections with outside partners. (Ex. Community partner will provide $300 of the total $500 printing costs, asking for grant dollars to cover remaining $200.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>Submit grant application (<a href=\"https:\/\/oregonstate.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_b7nBWLRwdiBYSk6\">Qualtrics<\/a>).\u00a0 Applicant and at least half of the team members must be current OSUEA members. The recipient will receive $1,000. One-half of the amount will be used by the recipient(s) in their current or prospective Extension communication program; the other half will be used by the recipient(s) at their discretion to fund activities that will enhance their professional effectiveness (e.g., travel to professional meetings, additional training, purchase of books or subscriptions to journals).
