The conference theme was:\u00a0\u00a0<em>Gathering at the Waters: Celebrating Stories Embracing Communities.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>JCLC\u00a0brings together\u00a0five associations of ethnic librarians, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ailanet.org\/\">American Indian Library Association (AILA)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.apalaweb.org\/\">Asian\/Pacific American Librarians Association (APALA)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bcala.org\/\">Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cala-web.org\/\">Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.reforma.org\/\">National Association to Promote Library and Information Services to Latinos and the Spanish Speaking (REFORMA)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The program is packed full of presentations related to addressing the library related needs\u00a0of multicultural communities: <a href=\"http:\/\/jclc-conference.org\/program\/sessions\" target=\"_blank\">JCLC Program<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Overall it was an amazing experience and we can only hope that we don&#8217;t have to wait another 6 years until the 3rd conference!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The last Joint Conference of Librarians of Color (JCLC) took place in 2006, so it was very exciting to be able to attend JCLC in this year\u00a0in Kansas City, MO.
