His areas of expertise include air-sea interactions, satellite meteorology and oceanography, and atmospheric boundary layer and ocean mixed layer dynamics. His research spans a wide range of topics in climate science and meteorology, much of it focused on\u00a0the water cycle (evaporation and precipitation) and its response to climate change. Nick grew up in a small town in eastern Washington. He earned a bachelor\u2019s degree in physics from Harvard in 2005, and spent the next four years serving as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force.
