Scraps and Bruises

My time through the Computer Science program and a job in software engineering has taught me something I took for granted most of my life. It is the simple fact of getting out and physically doing something. Physically accomplishing a goal, challenge, through blood sweat and tears. All this computer work is very cerebral which is great but for 10 hours a day 7 days a week it can be somewhat….Exhausting. Since Winter is over I have been enjoying my time outside while the sunshine lasts then working on school during the darkness of the evenings.

This last weekend I was able to redo my fire pit in my back yard. It took me all day Saturday to finish. My hands ended that day torn, scraped and bruised but it sure did feel fantastic to accomplish something physically and not just sitting all day. This week I have started on some new stone steps leading to my house. I look forward to taking a brain break more this weekend to get out in the sunshine.

This week last week my capstone group had a wonderful meeting coming up with the team standards. I really have a great team looking forward to continuing to work with them. We have slowly been pecking away at the project plan but such a large project in such a short time can be daunting. I have started down my Udemy course to try and familiarize myself with the topics. It will take lots of work to have a decent outcome but I am focused on getting at least 1% better daily. Small pieces eventually build the whole puzzle.
